My name is Nicholas Gandy. I’m a native of the Florida Panhandle. I’m Mary’s husband and Jack’s dad.

I have been following Jesus’ call to serve the local church in vocational ministry since July 2006. Throughout my undergraduate years I supplied local churches in the Santa Rosa and Pensacola Bay Baptist Associations as a worship leader and preacher. I graduated from the University of West Florida in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in History, and immediately began seminary at Beeson Divinity School.

I took a three-year break from graduate school and taught middle and high school students at Milton High School and Jay High School. I enjoyed teaching world and American history, pre-algebra and algebra, and college-level critical thinking, but my favorite classes were focused on teaching life skills to intellectually disabled students. Throughout this period I served two churches bi-vocationally in music and youth ministry.

I completed my seminary degree through a combination of on campus, extension, and online courses, graduating from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in May 2022. I most recently served as senior pastor of Elkdale Baptist Church in Selma, Alabama. Previously I served as pastor of London Baptist Church in Castleberry, Alabama and Friendship Baptist Church in Springville, Alabama. Outside of the local church, I have been involved with the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions, through which I served on the Committee on Boards and Commissions, and with Romanian-American Mission, for which I was a board member for twelve years.
