Billy Foote released an EP in 2020 titled, World Burning Down. The last song on that album, “Dear Ordinary Pastor,” is an expression of gratitude for the average shepherd who labors in places the world has overlooked, but that matter to the Father.

I have been privileged to serve three churches as pastor, each congregation filled with wonderful saints who love the Lord Jesus and one another. These churches and so many like them do not need celebrity shepherds, but ordinary pastors who will lead them to fulfill the great commission, feed them the truth of Scripture in the love of Christ, and meet needs among them with practical provision and pastoral sensitivity.

Through their encouragement and edification, I have joyfully embraced the concept of being an ordinary pastor. I seek to use my gifts and graces to meet each person where they are in their spiritual walk and help them take the next step in the hope that everyone who begins a walk of faith in Jesus Christ finishes that walk well.
